This Part 1-2 of the European Standard EN 50290 gives the terms and definitions for the design, the
construction, the tests and the installation of symmetrical, coaxial and optical fibre cables used for the
infrastructure of communication and control networks.
These definitions apply for the European Standard series EN 50290 and EN 50289 and all the relevant
cable specifications.
