This standard specifies the requirements for labels containing human readable and bar coded information for fixing to steel products for the purpose of dispatch, transport and reception. It provides for two formats of label, that is, a large and small label the application of which depends on the type, size and shape of the steel product. Data areas are defined and the associated information specified both as to content and characters to be used and where expressed in bar code, the bar code identifiers and symbology are specified.
