Fuel Injection System Fuel Pressure Regulator and Pressure Damper, Recommended Practice
|Publication Date:||1 January 1990|
1. Scope--This document applies to electronic fuel injection systems,fuel pressure regulators and pressure dampers. It is intended as aguide toward a standard practice and is subject to change to keep pacewith experience and technical advances. Any deviations from this teststandard must be stated when referencing this document.
Many of the tests specify the use of mineral spirits for safety andfuel stability considerations. Since the properties of mineral spiritsdiffer significantly from those of gasoline, it is recommended thatvehicle verification development tests be conducted to determine theacceptability of a regulator and/or damper design for each vehicleapplication.
1.1 Purpose--The purpose of this document is to promote uniformity inthe specifications for the qualification test procedures for gasolinefuel-injecti
More specifically this practice is intended as a guide to:
a. Identify and define those parameters that are required to measurepressure regulator and damper characteristics and performance.
b. Establish uniform, meaningful test procedures and recommend testequipment to evaluate and quantify these parameters.
c. Standardize the nomenclature as related to fuel injection systems.
