scope:

This European Prestandard gives guidance for the assessment of conformity to be included in the manufacturer's quality plan as part of the quality system. This prestandard includes: a) requirements for materials, components, joints and assemblies given in EN 1852-1:1997; b) requirements for the manufacturer's quality system; c) definitions and procedures to be applied if third party certification is involved. This prestandard is applicable to piping systems made of polypropylene (PP) intended to be used for: - non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage outside the building structure (application area code "U"), reflected in the marking of products by "U"; - non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage for both buried in the ground within the building structure (application area code "D") and outside the building structure (application area code "U"), reflected in the marking of products by "UD".
