This guideline provides recommended information to be placed in RFID tags used on products, packages, and shipping tags by the telecommunications industry. The guideline is in compliance with the following ISO standards

• ISO 17367, Supply chain applications of RFID - Product Tagging

• ISO 17366, Supply chain applications of RFID - Product Packaging

• ISO 17365, Supply chain applications of RFID - Transport Units

• ISO 17364, Supply chain applications of RFID - Returnable Containers

Possible applications include, but are not limited to, support of systems that automate the control of products during the processes of production, inventory, distribution, tracking, installation, field service, and repair.

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to specify the content and format of the RFID product, product package ("package"), returnable containers, and transport unit ("shipping") tags that could be incorporated into a product, package, returnable container or shipping label specified in BCSC standards (i.e., ATIS 03-00006, Implementation Guide for Package Labeling and ATIS 03-00038, Product Marking Implementation Guideline).
