Purpose

The goal of this guideline is to recommend telecommunications Markup Language (tML) Transport Profile Specifications that facilitate the interchange of tML formatted business transactions among telecommunication companies.

This document defines an implementation infrastructure that would enable companies to conduct e-business with their trading partners. The intent is for it to be used as a reference document when implementing applications based on tML schemas such as those defined within the industry Unified Ordering Model (UOM) efforts or Trouble Administration (TA) applications. The tML schemas are eXtensible Markup Language (XML) schemas defined for telecommunication needs. This document focuses on incorporating Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) messaging over Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol/Secure sockets (HTTP/S) into a company's interconnection infrastructure to exchange messages. This framework can be evolved to encompass emerging web services technologies when they have matured enough to be deployed in a commercial environment.
