Introduction

Purpose. In driving operation and in particular during parking maneuvers torsional loads are applied to the steering wheel. The purpose of this test is to determine the effect of such loads on the service life of the steering wheel. A torque of 70 Nm max. may be applied to the steering wheel rim when the driver is seated in normal seat position. This value shall be used for the test.

Applicability. Steering wheels of the entire vehicle range.
