Purpose. To determine the powertrain cooling temperatures (coolant, engine oil, and transmission oil), thermal temperatures (underhood and underbody components affected by powertrain generated heat), and Energy Storage System (ESS) temperatures for the conditions specified in the Vehicle Technical Specifications (VTS).
Foreword. This test procedure is intended to be a supplement to GMW14555 for hybrid programs and used along with procedure GMW14555 to validate the powertrain cooling, thermal, and ESS capability for a hybrid vehicle program. The temperatures measured are compared against the limits defined in the VTS, Subsystem Technical Specifications (SSTS), or Component Technical Specifications (CTS).
Applicability. For all hybrid and electric passenger vehicles and multipurpose vehicles.
