scope:

Deals with the safety of electric projectors and similar appliances, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V, for household and similar purposes. Some example of appliances that are within the scope of this standard are effects projectors, film-strip projectors, microscope projectors, motion-picture projectors, overhead projectors, photographic enlargers, still view and photo-reproduction appliances.
This standard however, in general, does not take into account the use of appliances by
- persons (including children) whose
* physical, sensory or mental capabilities; or
* lack of experience and knowledge
prevent them from using the appliance safely without supervision or instruction;
- children playing with the appliance.
