Purpose. To evaluate the impact resistance of non-metallic primary and secondary diesel and gasoline fuel tanks.

Foreword. This procedure can be used to show compliance with European Regulations:

• EEC 70/221 as amended by EEC 2000/8

Note: The fuel tank must be able to pass this test after completing the fuel tank conditioning described in GMW14846.

Applicability. This procedure applies to all passenger cars, multipurpose vehicles (MPV), and trucks which have a primary or secondary nonmetallic diesel or gasoline fuel tank.
