scope:

PURPOSE

This Marshall Work Instruction (MWI) establishes the method for wastewater compliance activities at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). This MWI provides instructions for the requirements provided in Marshall Procedural Requirements (MPR) 8500.1, specifically, the wastewater compliance requirements as established by the Clean Water Act, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and State water quality requirements. This MWI includes requirements for routing new and existing liquid discharges generated at MSFC to the appropriate destination.

APPLICABILITY

This MWI applies to the personnel, programs, projects, and activities at MSFC, including contractors and resident agencies to the extent specified in their respective contracts or agreements. ("Contractors," for purposes of this paragraph, include contractors, grantees, Cooperative Agreement recipients, Space Act Agreement partners, or other agreement parties.) This MWI does not apply to the Michoud Assembly Facility.
