Purpose.
To evaluate the fire resistance of non-metallic fuel systems against requirements found in:
• 70/221/EEC as amended by EEC/2000/8
• APAN TRIAS 42
Foreword.
Fire resistance procedure and requirements for bulkheads are in procedure GMUTS L-1C-XG/7613. Time and test resources may be saved by running these two procedures together.
Applicability.
All private passenger vehicles whose engine uses a liquid fuel, and which have a primary and/or secondary fuel tank made of nonmetallic material. This directive applies to vehicles of category M, N, and O (Source EEC70/221). GM requirement includes all vehicles with fuel tanks made of non-metallic material.
