Purpose and Scope

This Technical Report provides a repository for personal communications terminology. It contains definitions, acronyms and abbreviations associated with personal communications. This Technical Report should be utilized as an aid to achieve a common basis of understanding of personal communications terminology. The use of this terminology in standards and technical reports should be consistent with this document. Future Technical Reports will be generated, as necessary, to include additional commonly used terminology identified by T1P1, other Committee T1 Technical Subcommittees (TSCs), TIA, and other standards and industry fora.
