Purpose:

Draw process equipment covered by this specification shall be of adequate power, rigidity, and accuracy to make tight radius thin wall bends in aluminum, mild steel, stainless steel, titanium, and other alloyed tubing for Aerospace Vehicles, to the applicable military or Federal specifications.

Classification:

This equipment shall be classified as to type, size and class, as follows:

Type I - Precision tube bender equipped with direct hydraulic pressure for pressure and clamp die.

Type II - Precision tube bender equipped with indirect hydraulic pressure for pressure and clamp die.

Type III - Precision tube bender equipped with direct hydraulic pressure for pressure and clamp die and booster to assist or restrict flow of tubing into bending area.

Type IV - Precision tube bender equipped with direct hydraulic pressure for pressure die and indirect hydraulic pressure for clamp.

Size 3 - Bender with capacity to bend 3 inch diameter tubing.

Size 6 - Bender with capacity to bend 6 inch diameter tubing.

Class I - Precision bender (left hand), counter clockwise bending motion.

Class II - Precision bender (right hand) clockwise bending motion.
