This Defence Standard specifies the retaining rings (circlips) for Ministry of Defence use in new designs of equipment and, wherever practicable for the maintenance of existing equipment with the exception of:
Aerospace vehicles, or close support equipment for these vehicles.
Rings retaining of the types known as 'E' clips and 'C' clips conforming to BS 3673: Parts 2 and 3.
