It is the intention of this standard to use and align with the relevant ITU-T Recommendation.
This alignment effort consists of adopting ITU-T Recommendation Q.811, Lower layer protocol profiles for the Q and X interfaces.
For the purpose of this standard, the ANSI NSAP address format (listed as an example in Figure B.3/Q.811 and copied below) is considered to be normative.
