Purpose.

This instruction establishes guidelines and assigns responsibilities for planning and executing CWID. CWID is the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff's premier annual event that enables US combatant commands (COCOMs), all US Military Services, US national civil authorities, and the coalition community to identify, investigate, and assess command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions that focus on relevant and timely objectives for enhancing coalition, COCOM, Service, agency (C/C/S/A) interoperability and information sharing while exploring new partnerships.

Applicability.

This instruction applies to the Joint Staff, Military Services, COCOMs, and participating government defense and homeland security/homeland defense (HS/HD) agencies.
