The purpose of this document is to establish a standard process for potting and molding electrical cable assembly terminations using epoxy-resin potting compositions and elastomeric dielectric compounds.
This standard describes the materials and methods to be used in potting and molding electrical cable assembly terminations with epoxy-resin potting compositions and elastomeric dielectric compounds and describes the facilities and equipment required to perform the potting and molding processes. The standard dimensional requirements for potting and molding specific types of cable assemblies are specified in Appendix A.
