This standard replaces 2-01304-007 A1. The Standard has been re formatted and renumbered. There were no technical changes.
Purpose
The purpose of this Standard is to define the life cycle requirements for Pumping System assets. These assets comprise:
Pumps
Waste Tanks
Vent systems
Pump pipework
Pump valves
Pump power and control equipment
Pump alarm systems
This standard defines the requirements for the pumping components of a drainage system and shall be read in conjunction with LU Standard 1-052 Civil Engineering - Gravity Drainage Systems.
This standard does not cover building drainage, sanitary ware, roof drainage, guttering or down pipes. These are dealt with in LU Standards 1-068 (Station and Mechanical Services, Utility Provision and Energy Management), and EME-ST-01-018 (Mechanical Services Design).
In defining requirements specifically applicable to Pumping System assets, this Standard complements Engineering Standard 1-050 (Civil Engineering - Common Requirements) that defines mandatory requirements generally applicable to all Civil Engineering assets including the Pumping System assets.
A supporting Manual of Good Practice G-056 (Civil Engineering - Pumping Systems) gives guidance and historical information specific to LU Pumping Systems assets.
