scope:
This Standard:
defines the minimum requirements for the performance of the ETE system;
defines the specific requirements for Track Isolating Switches; and
defines the minimum acceptable condition for ETE including:
Traction Cables and Terminations;
Conductor Rail Bonds (including flexible bonds);
Traction Bleed Resistors (when mounted trackside);
Low Current d.c. Track Connections;
Train Entering Terminal Station (TETS) equipment;
Track Isolating Switches (including section switches, isolation, changeover and coupling switches);
circuit breakers (not encompassed by 1-109 but including siding contactors)
Disconnection Panels;
Gap Jumper Cables and their storage cabinets; and
Equipment for Depot Shed Shore Supplies including trolley rails and collector system, overhead trolley rail isolators, drop leads and plugs, receptacle boxes, indicators and Depot Trip Switches.
This Standard excludes the requirements for:
equipment within the traction supply sub-station; and
the conductor rails.
This standard replaces 1-107A1.
Reference should also be made to the standards E4260 and E4013.
This Standard is excluded from the Power Service Contract.
Purpose
This Standard provides the minimum requirements for Electrical Track Equipment (ETE) used to control the delivery of the d.c. traction supply to London Underground's conductor rail network, including main lines, depots, sidings and shore supplies in depot sheds.
