scope:
This Standard applies to all train operators and all personnel whose duties require them to obtain safety on the track certification (including Protection Master, Track Competent, Track Access Qualified and Track Accustomed) or undergo Annual Test of Rules certification as defined by the LU Rule Book.
This Standard shall be enforceable from the date of issue.
Purpose
The purpose of this Standard is to specify the level of hearing required to meet the requirements for track safety certification to work in the track environment.
The hearing requirements are based on sound pressure levels and frequencies generated by the lookout horn, whistle, other machinery with audible warnings, and levels of speech (shouted warnings).
