AIM

The aim of this agreement is to provide NATO Forces with a standardized, advance warning message procedure for transmitting significant NBC materials or Toxic Industrial Materials (TIM) release event hazard warnings before the releases actually occur. The potentially dangerous NBC materials or TIM releases are also know as Releases Other Than Attack (ROTA) events. Advance warning of hazards from future NBC and TIM release events covered by this STANAG include releases that are both friendly and adversary induced. This agreement uses the existing NBC Warning and Reporting System's ROTA messages described in STANAG ATP-45.
