This standard applies to engineering assets, systems, processes and controls over which LU's RM's have accountability, including:

all engineering assets on LU property;

engineering assets provided for LU use on property owned by others;

the competence of persons who work on (a) and (b) above; and

the processes used to control work on (a) and (b) above.

The scope of application of ERNs covers operation of the railway, procurement of assets and management of projects.

For the avoidance of doubt, ERNs have the status of Category 1 engineering standards.

This standard replaces 2-01002-005 A2. The Standard has been re formatted and renumbered. There were no technical changes.

Purpose

This standard defines the requirements for the structure, format, content, issue, control and withdrawal of Engineering Regulatory Notices (ERNs).
