This Standard applies to Building and Station Structure assets owned by LU.
This Standard defines the civil engineering requirements for Building and Station Structure assets through the following life cycle stages:

Construction, installation, testing & commissioning
Inspection
Analytical assessment
Condition assessment and certification
Maintenance
Strengthening and renewal
Decommissioning
This standard replaces 2-01304-004. The Standard has been re formatted and renumbered. There were no technical changes.

In defining requirements specifically applicable to Building and Station Structure assets this Standard complements LU Standard 1-050 (Civil Engineering - Common Requirements) that defines mandatory requirements generally applicable to all Civil Engineering assets, including the Building and Station Structure assets.
A supporting Manual of Good Practice G-053 gives guidance and explanation on Building and Station Structure assets.
Building and Station Structure assets serve a functional requirement which is provided by;
civil and structural elements together with
finishes,
drainage and
electrical and mechanical services.
This standard covers the civil and structural engineering aspects of the asset.
This standard does not cover the functional requirement of the asset, the architectural appearance, the finishes or the plant and equipment.
