scope:

PURPOSE. This Instruction:

Reissues DoD Instruction (DoDI) 7770.3 (Reference (a)) in accordance with the authority in DoD Directive (DoDD) 5124.02 (Reference (b)).

Renames the Instruction to more accurately reflect policy and procedures.

Establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, prescribes procedures, and establishes requirements for the reporting by electronic transmission of Reserve Component (RC) pay data files, maintained by the Military Services, to the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) in accordance with Reference (b).

APPLICABILITY. This Instruction applies to:

OSD, the Military Departments (including the Coast Guard at all times, including when it is a service in the Department of Homeland Security by agreement with that Department), the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, the DoD Field Activities, and all other organizational entities within the Department of Defense (hereafter referred to collectively as the "DoD Components").

All officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel assigned to the Ready, Standby, and Retired Reserve.

Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) cadets and midshipmen receiving a form of Federal financial support such as tuition, subsistence, summer training stipend, expenses, or uniform allowance.
