This publication deals with the design of aluminum pipe for internal pressure. It has been prepared to provide guidance to engineers, designers and appropriate governmental bodies to promote the safe design of aluminum pipe for internal pressure in accordance with the Regulations for the Transportation of Natural and Other Gas by Pipeline, Part 192, Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations. The recommendations and data in this publication represent the best current thinking of the industry with respect to aluminum for pipe for internal pressure. However, these recommendations and data are offered as guidelines only and the Aluminum Association, the Association's Technical Committee on Engineering and Design, the Subcommittee on Pipeline Specifications, and the members thereof assume no responsibility whatsoever as to the accuracy or applicability of such information or data with respect to the design, engineering or construction of any pipeline.
The use of this Guide by members or nonmembers of the Aluminum Association is voluntary and the issuance or existance of this Guide does not in any respect prevent or restrict any member or nonmember from manufacturing, designing, supplying, constructing or using products not in conformance with this Guide.
All Aluminum Association published standards, data, specifications, guides and other material are reviewed at least every five years and revised, reaffirmed or withdrawn. Users are advised to contact the Aluminum Association to ascertain whether the information in this publication has been superseded in the interim between publication and proposed use.
