PURPOSE

Instruction. This Instruction is composed of several Volumes, each containing its own purpose. The purpose of the overall Instruction is to establish and implement policy, establish procedures, provide guidelines and model programs, delegate authority, and assign responsibilities regarding civilian personnel management within the Department of Defense.

Volume. This Volume of this Instruction implements DoD policy and procedures, delegates authority, and assigns responsibility for implementing the DoD Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees' (UCFE) Program pursuant to chapter 85 of title 5, United States Code (Reference (a)), which provides UC benefits to civilian employees of the Federal Government who are separated from their positions through no fault of their own.
