scope:
This standard applies to the installation, modification, repair and extension of electrical installations or electrical apparatus in areas endangered by explosive substances or preparations (see 3.1). If electrical equipment in accordance with 1.1 is installed, modified, repaired or extended in hazardous areas, the corresponding European Standards are also applicable. Priority is to be given to specifications containing more stringent safety requirements.
