Introduction

This document provides information on how to become familiar with areas on London Underground track.

The requirements for familiarisation and the protection arrangements covered in sections 3 and 4 are not needed for LU staff who are track access qualified, as these are covered in Rule Book 11, Section 8.4.

All areas of track represent a hazardous environment, the main dangers are from:

• Moving trains.

• Electrocution.

• Slipping and tripping.
