This specification covers general requirements for the lubricant, procedure for applying the lubricant to threaded nuts and fasteners, and quality control and source approval for the lubricated nuts and fasteners.

Restricted Chemical Substances

Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification.

APPLICATION

This specification describes a wax lubricant which is applied to threaded nuts and fasteners to reduce frictional forces, chatter, and machine vibrations and to provide a more uniform engagement in automatic torquing applications.
