This specification covers semiconductor (silicon) battery chargers for charging lead-acid storage batteries covered in W-B-133, type I, and used for propulsion and operation of industrial type lift trucks and pallet transporters.
Battery chargers shall be of the following types, as specified (see 6.1.1):
Type I - For charging 6-cell (12 volts nominal), 600 to 900 ampere-hour (Ah) batteries. Type II - For charging 12-cell (24 volts nominal), 600 to 900 Ah batteries. Type III - For charging 18-cell (36 volts nominal), 600 to 900 Ah batteries. Type IV - For charging 12-cell or 18-cell (24 or 36 volts nominal), 600 to 900 Ah batteries.
