PURPOSE. To set policy and establish responsibility for the maintenance of U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) materiel. This instruction sets forth the requirements for a comprehensive maintenance program establishing policy for the performance of maintenance of USCG materiel assets. In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document supersedes applicable laws and regulations.
