The Standard contains the requirement for a maintenance regime to manage the signalling system assets on the LU operational railway.
The parts of this standard which refer to the changing of equipment are concerned only with like for like replacement unless the text indicates otherwise.
This standard covers the requirements for incident management and emergency works.
For clauses 3.2.2.5.1 and 3.2.2.7.3:
Suppliers may offer an alternative providing that the option is in accordance with Good Industry Practice, BS and ENs and that risks are always managed ALARP.
Suppliers shall declare the option and provide evidence of meeting both the criteria described above and their own standards where applicable.
This issue of the standard replaces 1-199 A1.
Purpose
The purpose of this Standard is to state the requirements concerning process, technical, and environmental issues which must be applied to the operations phase and its associated maintenance regime in the life cycle of signalling systems.
