scope:

Use/relationship: Special Inspection Equipment (SIE) Drawings/Models and Associated Lists provide the data required for the limited production of SIE which duplicates the physical and performance characteristics of the original SIE.

a. This Data Item Description (DID) contains the format and content preparation instructions for SIE Drawings/Models and Associated Lists resulting from the work task described by 5.7.3.5 of MIL-STD-31000.

b. This DID is applicable to acquisitions of military systems, equipment, and components that require the use of special inspection equipment to achieve the engineering requirements of the item.

c. When this DID is imposed in a contract or purchase order, consideration should be given to applying DI-QCIC- 81006, Special Inspection Equipment Descriptive Documentation.

d. This DID supersedes DI-SESS-81004C.
