This handbook provides information that is supplementary to the Detail Specification Geospatial Symbols for Digital Displays (GeoSym, MIL-DTL- 89045A, 15 February 2007.

Purpose.

This document serves a three-fold purpose. Section 4 contains information that is historical in nature about the development of the GeoSym product. This information is provided for the reader as an explanation of the objectives of GeoSym. Section 5 contains information about the user environment within which GeoSym is designed to be utilized. Section 6 contains technical information critical to the design of application software that utilizes the GeoSym product.

This handbook is for guidance only. Do not cite this document as a requirement. If it is, the contractor does not have to comply.
