The standard specifies a method for assessing the quality of sealed anodic oxide coatings on aluminium and its alloys, by measurement of the admittance or the impedance. The method is suitable for use as a production control test. It is also suitable for use as an acceptance test when there is agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser.
