This information sheet is an abridgement of a comprehensive study, "The Longevity and Performance of Diamond-Ground Pavements" (RD118). Includes a review of existing information on diamond grinding. Extensive field surveys -- 60 pavement sections in 18 states -- were used obtain performance data. The analysis shows no evidence of surface degradation resulting from diamond grinding.
