Description of Driving Event:

A very disorganized system of making, archiving, and reporting natural environmental conditions at KSC has evolved. Several organizations make measurements and archive them in a variety of ways. Different organizations are responsible for transmitting these data to using organizations. The final report of the natural environmental conditions for the launch is the responsibility of another organization. Therefore, it is difficult to determine when and where some of the measurements were made, what type they are, and whether or not the instruments were properly calibrated. Instead of the numerous organizations, each organization that has a requirement for natural atmospheric environmental data should make its requirements known; and one single organization at each launch site should be responsible for the environmental data that could affect a launch.
