Abstract:
In preparing Topex/Poseidon for system test in 1993, the lifting fixture was severely damaged while lifting the spacecraft. Conduct rigorous analysis to verify and demonstrate that the lifting configuration is stable. Ensure qualified, experienced personnel are on site during critical hazardous operations.
