Description of Driving Event:
A project required purchase of an indefinite quantity of hardware spread over several years. The hardware was procured for this project using a modified Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) which resulted in cost savings to the project, simplified procurement and good service from the vendor. In addition, the BPA set prices for the hardware at the beginning of the contract and having this information allowed better planning for material purchases.
