scope:
This guide provides information that supplements that presented in IEEE Std C37.48™-19971 on the application operation and maintenance of high-voltage (1-38 kV) fuses, fuse disconnection switches, and accessories for use on alternating current distribution systems. These guidelines apply to the following specific types of equipment:
a) Distribution- and power-class current-limiting type fuses.
b) Distribution- and power-class current-limiting fuse disconnecting switches.
c) Items a) and b) used in fuse enclosure packages (see types listed in 1.1).
d) Removable switch blades of the type used exclusively with power- and distribution-class fuse disconnecting switches.
e) Distribution- and power-class of current and combination current-limiting expulsion external capacitor fuses used with a capacitor unit, groups of units, or capacitor banks.
NOTE-Some of the power- and distribution-class current-limiting fuses listed above are the same as those listed in IEC 60282-1 (2002-01).
