The test is accelerated and is carried out using as the corrosive medium a mixture of aqueous solution of cupric nitrate, ferric chloride and ammonium chloride. Kaolin is used as a carrier for the corrosion medium, and provides a mean for keeping the medium in contact with the test piece surface.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this test method is to determine the resistance of decorative chromium plating, to corrosive environments.
