This standard applies to the test specimens having a flash point of 80 °C and above, or various lubricating oils, cutting oils and anticorrosive oils.

PURPOSE

This standard specifies the test method of determining the flash point, or the lowest temperature where the test specimen begins to flame by the mixed gas of the oil vapor and air when heating the test specimen under the specified condition and approaching a small flame to the surface.
