This Practice describes requirements for instrument identification, mounting location, instrument support, process connections, and environmental protection.

Comment: This Practice does not cover related requirements for the design and installation of instrument piping and tubing which are addressed in PIP PCCIP001 - Instrument Piping and Tubing Systems Criteria. This Practice also does not cover related piping and tubing material specifications which are addressed in PIP PCSIP001 - Instrument Piping and Tubing Systems Specifications.

Comment: This Practice does not cover related requirements for external grounding or power for instruments which are addressed in Process Industry Practices (PIP) documents under the responsibility of the Electrical Function Team.
