This method covers a field or laboratory test for measuring the relative amounts of silt or clay size particles in fine aggregates or fine fractions of aggregates (see Notes (1)and (2)).

NOTE - Another version of this test is used for testing aggregates for concrete and other purposes (see NZS 3111 section 18). The sample preparation procedures for the two tests are different and may give significantly different results.
