This standard specifies requirements for the cleaning of areas where it is likely that agent of infection can exist and cause direct or indirect infection. The following critical risk areas are included in the standard: Lights, beds, washbasins, fittings, other sanitary appliances, handles, tables, walking frames and technical installations near the patient as well as other technical installations.
