Objective

This document is the DRM Server-Side Application Programming Infevface (API) Interoperabilify Specification. The main goal is to support the interoperable implementation by multiple vendors of Server-Side Middleware and Conditional Access System (CAS)/Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems. To achieve this goal, the following specific objectives have been considered:

↕ Handle one or more CAS/DRM systems on the same network.

↕ Provide support for the adding/removing, updating, and querying of parameters known to be common to most CAS/DRM systems.

↕ Support control of broadcast services and Content on Demand (COD) assets.

↕ Support control of content scrambling and copy protection parameters

↕ Provide comprehensive response and error condition status.

↕ The DRM server-side API addresses only the interface between the Server-Side DRM System and the Server-Side Middleware.

NOTE -This specification assumes that the CASlDRM system is a black box.
