Purpose of This Notice. This notice provides policy to Flight Standard District Offices (FSDO) and principal maintenance inspectors (PMI) with oversight responsibilities of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR) part 183, Technical Personnel Examiners (TPE). Specifically this notice expands policy associated with Designated Mechanic Examiners (DME) authorized to conduct testing of mechanics for airframe and or powerplant certification. This change in policy authorizes simultaneous testing of up to two mechanic applicants at one time as approved by the geographically responsible FSDO or International Field Office (IFO).
