scope:
This international standard specifies effective methods for minimizing the dangers of asbestos in ships during ship recycling, thereby reducing the release of asbestos into the environment and worker exposure to asbestos, in order to help ship recycler to fulfil the requirement regarding ship recycling by the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships, 2009.
