SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION
The scope of Chapter 5 is the installation and operation of meter stations designed to dynamically measure hydrocarbon liquids in order to achieve acceptable results in terms of accuracy, service life, safety, reliability and quality control The Chapter also includes information which will assist in the diagnosis of trouble and the better maintenance of meters.
Its field of application is the measurement of liquid crude oils and refined products which are normally in the liquid phase at atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature, at conditions of temperature and pressure that may prevail inside a meter while It is measuring Chapter 5 also covers hydrocarbons which can. by heating, cooling and/or compressing, be made liquid and kept liquid by maintaining the proper temperature and pressure it does not apply to metering two phase fluids.
Its application to mass measurement of liquefied petroleum gas mixtures should be reviewed for adaptability and precautions required in metering at flowing conditions.
